Ascend Bank Appoints Susan Andros Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer

Ascend Bank today announced that Susan Andros has joined the company as Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and a member of the bank’s Executive Leadership Team. Reporting to the CEO, Andros will oversee Ascend Bank’s enterprise risk framework to ensure the business operates within its risk appetite and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. In this capacity she will be responsible for significant drivers of bank risk including Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Compliance and Strategic Risk—partnering across business lines to support sustainable growth and a strong risk culture.

Andros is a veteran strategic risk and control leader within financial services. She has an exceptional track record and deep experience guiding large, regulated financial institutions such as Wells Fargo, Synchrony and Citi through transformation and heightened supervisory expectations. Over her career, she has led enterprise-level control redesigns, regulatory remediation programs, and issue-closure efforts across consumer lending, cards and merchant services, technology risk, and global operations.
